Federal Territories

Malaysia has three federal territories which is Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Federal Territory of Putrajaya, located in Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan is located in Sabah. Federal Territory of Labuan is an island between Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia.

Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (also known as Klang Valley) is commonly called the capital and largest city in Malaysia with an area of 244km². Has a population of 1.6juta according to statistics released in 2006.Kuala Lumpur is recognized as a metropolitan city known as the primate city because its population to reach 1 million people and fastest growing in Malaysia compared to other cities in terms of economic, population and cultural center.


Malaysian Parliament are also located in Kuala Lumpur and was the executive and judicial branches of federal government, but has moved into the federal territories of Putrajaya Federal Territory of Putrajaya since established in 1999. However, there are other several judicial departments in Kuala Lumpur. Istana Negara is located in Kuala Lumpur which is the official residence of the Yang Dipertuan Agong (the king of Malaysia)


As a sovereign country Malaysia and primate city, Kuala Lumpur is recognized as an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC), which is the only global city in Malaysia.


       

Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Flag
Basically the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur flag is similar to the Malaysia flag, but the design and arrangement are a slightly different of the flag of Malaysia.  Flag of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with four colors of blue, red, yellow and white representing different purposes. Flag of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur also has a crescent and star symbol that has fourteen vertices.
